Getting Started

How does SplitRide work?

Someone creates a trip (origin, destination, departure time, number of seats). Other commuters heading the same way join the trip. When everyone arrives, the payer uploads the receipt and all participants submit their share of proof. The fare is split evenly.

Is it free to use?

Yes. SplitRide does not charge a platform fee. You only pay your share of the actual taxi fare.

Do I need to register?

Yes. You need a valid UAE mobile number to register. OTP verification is used to confirm your number.

Joining a Ride

How do I join a trip?

Browse available trips, find one that matches your route, and tap "Join This Ride". The trip creator will confirm or refuse your request. Once confirmed, you have a reserved seat.

What happens after I join?

Show up at the meeting point listed on the trip at the departure time. The creator confirms your presence. Once at least 2 participants are confirmed, the payer can start the ride.

Can I leave a trip after joining?

Yes, as long as the trip has not yet started (IN_PROGRESS). Tap "Leave This Ride" on the trip page. Repeated no-shows without leaving first will lower your Reliability Score.

Payments

Who pays the taxi driver?

One participant volunteers as the Payer and pays the full fare upfront. After the trip, they upload the receipt on the platform and set the per-person amount.

How do I pay my share?

Transfer your share directly to the payer via bank transfer or any agreed method. Then upload proof of transfer inside the trip's payment section before the deadline.

What if someone doesn't pay?

Missing the payment deadline will automatically reduce that user's Reliability Score and may restrict them from joining future trips. Persistent non-payers can be reported for further review.

Why is my bank info shared with other participants?

When you join a trip, your WhatsApp number and payment details are shared with co-riders so you can coordinate payment directly. This is disclosed in our Terms and Conditions and you consent to it by joining a trip.

Drivers & Transporters

How do I register as a driver?

Go to your profile and complete the Driver Setup. You'll need to submit your vehicle type, plate number, a brief description, and car photos. Our team reviews and verifies your licence before you can accept trips.

How do I get matched with trips?

Once verified, you'll see open trips on your driver dashboard. Tap "Offer to Drive" on any trip near your location. The trip creator can accept or decline your offer.

What happens if I cancel after being accepted?

Cancellations after acceptance are recorded and will affect your driver rating. Repeated cancellations may suspend your driver account.

Trust & Safety

What is the Reliability Score?

A score out of 100 that reflects how reliable you are as a trip participant. It goes up when you show up on time and pay promptly, and drops when you miss trips or skip payments. Users below a certain threshold cannot join new trips.

Can I review other participants?

Yes. After a trip completes, you can rate and leave a comment on any co-rider. Reviews are visible on their public profile.

Who can see my contact details?

Only confirmed participants of the same trip. Your WhatsApp number and payment info are never shown to the general public or to users on different trips.

How do I report a user or driver?

Use the Contact Us page to submit a report. Include the trip ID and a description of the issue. Our team reviews all reports within 48 hours.
