Please read these terms carefully before using SplitRide. They govern how the platform works and what you agree to as a user.

Important — Your data is shared with trip participants

By joining or creating a trip, you agree that your WhatsApp number and payment details will be shared with the other confirmed participants of that specific trip. This is necessary for ride coordination and fair payment.

1.Acceptance of Terms

By registering an account or using the SplitRide platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

2.Who Can Use SplitRide

SplitRide is open to any individual aged 18 or above who holds a valid UAE mobile number. To operate as a driver or transport provider, you must hold a valid UAE transport licence, a registered and insured vehicle, and pass our driver verification process. Unverified or unlicensed individuals may not accept or advertise rides as drivers.

3.Data Sharing Between Trip Participants

When you join or create a trip, your contact information — including your WhatsApp number and any bank or payment details you have provided — will be visible to the other confirmed participants of that trip. This sharing is necessary to coordinate pickup, payment, and direct communication between co-riders. By using SplitRide and participating in a trip, you explicitly consent to this sharing. If you do not wish your information to be shared, you should not join or create a trip.

4.Commuter Responsibilities

As a commuter, you agree to: • Arrive at the agreed meeting point on time. • Pay your share of the fare within the deadline set by the platform after trip completion. • Treat co-riders and drivers with respect. • Not misrepresent your identity or use a fraudulent account. • Accept that failure to pay on time will negatively affect your Reliability Score and may restrict your access.

5.Transporter Responsibilities

As an authorized transporter, you agree to: • Maintain a valid transport licence and vehicle insurance throughout your time on the platform. • Only accept trips you intend to complete. • Not charge fares above the agreed-upon split amount. • Notify participants promptly if you are unable to fulfil a trip. • Treat all passengers with professionalism and respect. SplitRide reserves the right to remove any transporter who violates these terms or whose licence lapses.

6.Payments and Fare Splits

The payer (a confirmed participant who volunteers) advances the full taxi fare and uploads proof of payment. All other participants are required to submit payment proof within the platform's deadline. Late or missing payments are recorded and reduce the offending user's Reliability Score. SplitRide does not hold or transfer funds — it facilitates coordination and enforces accountability between participants.

7.Reliability Score

SplitRide uses an automated Reliability Score to promote accountability. The score is affected by: attendance at confirmed trips, timely payment of your share, and reviews from co-riders and drivers. Users whose scores fall below a threshold may be restricted from joining new trips until the score recovers.

8.Reviews and Conduct

After a trip completes, participants may leave reviews for each other and for the driver. Reviews must be honest and based on actual trip experience. Abusive, defamatory, or false reviews are prohibited and may result in account suspension. SplitRide reserves the right to remove reviews that violate this policy.

9.Prohibited Conduct

You may not: use the platform to harass, threaten, or defraud other users; create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions; share another user's private information outside the platform; or use the platform for any purpose other than coordinating shared taxi rides.

10.Limitation of Liability

SplitRide is a coordination platform. We are not a transport provider, taxi company, or financial institution. We are not liable for: accidents or incidents during a trip, disputes between participants, failure of a driver to appear, or loss of funds due to non-payment by a co-rider. Use the platform at your own discretion.

11.Changes to These Terms

SplitRide may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification.
